Poison Prevention Educator,

Thank you for committing your time to valuable poison prevention education.  In order to assist you, NC Poison Control has created a curriculum for adults that aims to increase poison safety awareness and decrease the number of unintentional poisonings.  We will also familiarize you with NC Poison Control and what to do in the event of a poisoning.

The adult poison prevention curriculum, Poisoning Spans a Lifetime and the Participant Pack, are linked below. In the Participant Pack, you will find:

• Toxic Plants
• My Action Plan
• Checklist for poison proofing my home
• List of some potentially dangerous substances
• Evaluation

Facilitation of Poisoning Spans a Lifetime will take about an hour. There are several things you will need to do before facilitation:

1. Review the curriculum ahead of time.
2. Print handouts in the Participant Pack before your class so that each participant can have one pack.
3. Order your free poison center magnets or stickers.
4. Download a copy of Poison Control in Action from the links below. Visit our online store for all your poison education material needs.
